Does the coffee taste better in Sarasota?

There is always the chaos of preparing to get away for a few days. Making sure you are ahead of the game work wise with all showings, appointments, marketing items and meetings covered. Inevitably there are last minute showings, meetings, and conference calls. Sometimes even an offer on one of our listings – but that usually does not happen until I am actually on vacation! Thank goodness for the Schemmel Property Group team.

A new challenge this year was the kids schedules with each of them either having their own jobs or being involved with travel basketball. Jack working at The Oaks again this year and also interning at the Sarasota Herald Tribune. Jamie working the beach cabanas on both Siesta Key and Lido Key. Jacob with his knee surgery, rehab and right back to basketball including recent tournaments in North Carolina and Atlanta.

Then, of course, there are getaway logistics. Flight reservations – particularly challenging when people are traveling in different segments from different locations. Then of course lodging, airport logistics, and rental cars.

Then the actual traveling. I flew out by myself and my flight was overbooked by three seats. I was praying someone would take the voucher so that they did not ask me to give up my seat. Anyway 12 hours later you arrive at your destination.

So finally, you start to unwind assuming no pile of emails or calls. You start to take in your surroundings and relax. For me going to the mountains is so relaxing – maybe the thin air just forces it. That first morning you make a pot of coffee and it is the best damn coffee you have had in a long time!

So here is the question. After all the preparation, logistics challenges and travel, when someone arrives in Sarasota on vacation and starts to relax and unwind from the hustle and bustle of their daily lives and they have that first cup of coffee, is it the best damn coffee they have had in a long time?
