The Oaks Club Receives “Distinguished Emerald Club of the World” Award for 2017
The Oaks Club gated community in Osprey, Florida recently received the “Distinguished Emerald Club of the World” award for 2017 from Boardroom Magazine. The Oaks Club is the only community in West Central Florida that received this award this year. The award is selectively given to the finest private clubs in the world, with the Oaks Club previously receiving the “Distinguished Gold Club” award from Boardroom Magazine.
The Distinguished Gold Club award put the Oaks Club in the top 6 percent of all private clubs, while the recent Emerald Club award put the Oaks Club in the top 4 percent. The Oaks Club was also recently recognized by Golf Digest for the redesign of its Heron Course with state of the art infrastructure upgrades to weather hurricanes and tropical storms.
What the award program represents
Boardroom Magazine developed the Distinguished Clubs award to recognize the leading private clubs in the world and for the purpose of improving member experiences at clubs everywhere. The Oaks Club received the Emerald Club award because of the overall quality of its member experience and incredible world class facilities including a new $2.5 million WellFit Center with the latest fitness equipment, treatment rooms, group classes, and locker room amenities.
Boardroom is known as the leading authority on private clubs. Since the award program began, over 350 on-site surveys have been conducted with several thousands of general managers being interviewed as well as leadership staff. Over 170 private clubs throughout the world are now considered Distinguished Clubs.
The methodology used for the award
The Boardroom award process utilizes a 5-step process. Certain clubs are nominated in the first step by industry experts and a group comprised of respected private club managers. Then a site visit is conducted to evaluate the Quality Criteria used by Boardroom to judge each club fairly.
With the site visit data, personnel at Boardroom then use their own proprietary formula to quantify a Membership Experience quotient (score). The overall score for the club and each department is confidentially published online, and clubs that score high enough are eligible for Distinguished Club Status such as the Oaks Club.
